Since Alive’s inaugural youth rally in 2009, our purpose has been to help young people develop a bond between them and God that is unbreakable, and to help them realize that life is not a life at all without Christ. This year is no different. We hope that you will join us for this life changing experience.
From March 31 – April 2, 2017 the Spartanburg Seventh-day Adventist Church will be holding its ninth annual Alive Youth Rally for young people ages 13+. The event will begin with onsite packet pick-up at 5 PM on March 31, 2017. Registration is online only and under the Event Info menu. We will be capping registration at 500 people. We will close registration at 500 or on March 8, whichever comes first. For the past several years, we have had to stop accepting registrations several weeks prior to Alive so register your group early on. We cannot accept registrations after registration is closed and will have to turn people away who show up without registering.
FOOD: Because of the expenses of the food we provide every year, as a church we are trying to be more fiscally responsible. There will be options for food this year to be prepaid to help us recoup some food costs. This has to be selected and paid for DURING online registration via credit card or PayPal account. There will be NO ONSITE REGISTRATION and NO onsite payments made for food either.
The first session will start at 7 PM on Friday night, and our last meeting will conclude Saturday night, which will be followed by an activity game that you will want to be a part of. You can sign up to be a part of the game when you arrive. There will be a breakfast served Sunday morning for those that stay Saturday night.
If you are able, we do suggest a donation of $5 per person to help us with all general expenses. You can donate via PayPal by clicking the Donate button, with online registration, or bring it with you. The first 100 to register online will receive a free Alive t-shirt upon arrival. We will also be providing lodging and food during the event at no cost to those who would like to stay on the church campus. We do have plenty of camping space in the field if you would rather bring your tent. We also have provided a list of hotels close to the church on this page in case you and your group or family wishes to stay in one of them.
We will have volunteers and sponsors at the event to help supervise, however we do ask that you bring your own chaperones with you, as we ask that no one under the age of 18 be unsupervised. Anyone under the age of 18 must have their parent/guardian fill out the Alive 2017 Activity/Emergency Contact Form located on the Resources page.
(1) If you are planning to bring a group and you have both boys and girls, you are required to bring male and female chaperones to supervise your youth.
(2) If your 13th birthday is after the Alive weekend, you are allowed to attend, given that your birthday is within a month. Otherwise anyone under age 13 must be with an adult at ALL times.
