Alive FAQs

Alive starts on Friday, March 30 and concludes Sunday morning at 9am.
Please arrive after 5pm so that we are able to receive you properly.
We will close registration at 500 or on March 27, whichever comes first. For the past several years, we have had to stop accepting registrations several weeks prior to Alive so register your group early on. We cannot accept registrations after registration is closed and will have to turn people away who show up without registering.
Alive Youth Rally is geared towards ages 13-18. Some college students might come, but the age range listed is our target.
Anyone under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. No exceptions. If your 13th birthday is after the Alive weekend, you are allowed to attend, given that your birthday is within a month. Otherwise anyone under age 13 must be with an adult at ALL times.
Adults can come with their youth or children, but all have to register. This is a “youth rally” so the more adults that come, the less youth get to attend. If you are bringing a youth group, we recommend more youth than adults in your group. As stated above, the more adults that come, the less youth get to attend. We reserve the right to ask you to reduce the amount of adults in your group. It should never be more than 50/50.
You may come as a family. Please use the group registration.
Yes you can, but you have to register too. The best way to do this is to register as a group, since you will be chaperoning your child, but if your child has already registered then go ahead and register too.
We recommend for every 3-4 youth that you have one adult present to chaperone them. Please don’t have more adults than youth in your group. Registering more adults means that less youth get to attend.

If you are planning to bring a group and you have both boys and girls, you are required to bring male and female chaperones to supervise your youth.

You must chaperone your own youth group. Alive, nor the Spartanburg Seventh-day Adventist Church, can serve as a chaperone for children at the facility.
Alive is FREE! If you are able, we do suggest a donation of $5 per person to help us with expenses. You can donate via PayPal by clicking the Donate button on our website or bring it with you.

Yes! However, there are no purchases for food at Alive and you have to do this online at Deadline is March 27. The earlier you do this, the better it is for us to plan.

We are sorry, but your best option is to bring your own food in a cooler. You will not have access to the kitchen nor are you allowed to plug in crock pots or any other electrical cooking devices.

We are not able to change the menu for your special dietary needs. Your best option is to bring your own food in a cooler. You will not have access to the kitchen nor are you allowed to plug in crock pots or any other electrical cooking devices.

The food we will serve will be vegetarian. We will have a vegan option for lunch on Saturday.

Remember that this is a youth rally geared towards high school youth. The environment does not support small children running around on their own. The content of the messages may not be suitable for younger audiences. Your small children must accompany you at ALL times. No exceptions.
The Spartanburg Seventh-day Adventist Church is the host, programming and content creator, as well as the primary sponsor of this event. Additional support is greatly appreciated from Southern Adventist University (Engage Ministries) and the Carolina Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.

Only registered attendees can be at Alive and will have wristbands denoting their registration. Our registration is capped at the maximum allowable occupational limit for our facilities, as per Fire Marshall code. For the safety and security of our participants, we ask that those not registered please refrain from attempting to enter the event. For those unable to register or be in attendance, live streaming will be available at:

We have a special program on Friday night, for Youth to share their talents called Afterglow. You must bring your own instrument if you need to play one. You should contact us at or on our Facebook page to let us know you want to be part of the program.
YES! We totally recommend this. The sleeping quarters are tight and shared with many others. We have designated areas on the field for tents.

All tents must be supervised by a chaperone that you bring. Male and females are not allowed in the same tent unless you are a family or married.
